Assistant Project Manager – BL31023

Blargoans Ltd have a 12-month contract opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager to work within our client’s facility in Caithness.

 

The purpose of the job is to safely deliver multi-disciplinary tasks/projects. The job holder will provide support and assistance to the project manager in the development and implementation of decommissioning projects.

The successful candidate will be required to produce reports, specifications, project management documentation, site modification reports, and safe systems of work for projects and facility tasks, previous experience in production of these documents is desirable.  A proven record of being able to work independently using own initiative to manage or progress work packages or small projects.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Support project management strategies, optimising plans to respond to changes when necessary
  • Assist in the production and maintenance of the programme baseline
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to expedite safe project delivery
  • Monitor internal and contractor performance against safety, costs, programme and quality, identify deviations and recommend remedial actions as appropriate
  • Prepare handover documentation and support project handover
  • Efficiently manage projects within the bounds of the safety case
  • Review and report on identified problems and incidents, establishing causes and identifying, recommending and implementing solutions
  • Liaise with works control centres to ensure timely supply of adequate resources both in the short and long term
  • Participate in site emergency exercises as required
  • Perform the responsibilities of Management Appointments relevant to post
  • Manage staff as a line manager.

 

Aptitudes and Experience

  • HND in Science/Engineering or equivalent qualifications plus experience
  • Demonstrable nuclear/industrial experience
  • Relevant contract management experience
  • Trade/technical/construction/engineering experience would be advantageous

 

Terms and Conditions

Basic Annual Income – £44,811 to £76,934 overtime rates apply as standard.

37.9 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Every third Friday being a non-working day.

Annual Holiday Entitlement: 25 days annual leave, 8 public holidays, 2.5 privilege holidays

12 Month Contract
