Blargoans Ltd have 12 month contract opportunities for Operators to work within our client’s facility in Caithness.

This hands-on position involves supporting operational, maintenance and decommissioning activities, ensuring plant systems, equipment and work areas are maintained to the highest safety and compliance standards. Working within a highly regulated environment, you will contribute to the safe handling of hazardous materials, operational monitoring and continuous site improvement while developing valuable technical skills as part of an experienced team.

 What you’ll do:

As an Operator you’ll support a range of operational and maintenance activities that are essential to the safe decommissioning of the Site. From carrying out routine plant inspections and maintenance to supporting repairs, monitoring operations and assisting with decommissioning projects, you’ll play a vital role in keeping site activities running safely and effectively.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out operational maintenance in line with planned maintenance schedules.
  • Performing routine plant, fire and emergency checks, identifying faults and supporting resolutions.
  • Supporting decommissioning and operational activities, including working within radiologically controlled

environments.

  • Handling, packaging and transferring radioactive and hazardous materials safely and compliantly.

a team player with strong attention to detail and a commitment to working within a highly regulated environment.

The ideal candidate will bring a proactive approach and a willingness to learn, with experience in industrial, engineering,

manufacturing, energy, defence or other safety-critical environments being advantageous.

  • Experience supporting operational, maintenance or site-based activities.
  • A strong commitment to health, safety and regulatory compliance.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow established procedures.
  • Flexibility to undertake shift working and operate specialist equipment following training.
  • Working at height
  • Hold a clean UK Drivers licence and be willing to drive industrial vehicles following training.
  • Post specific physical capability analysis assessment

Terms and Conditions

Basic Annual Income –£26,807 to £37,030, depending on experience.

Working Hours – 37.9 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with every third Friday as a non-working day.

Annual Holiday Entitlement – 25 days annual leave, 8 public holidays, 2.5 privilege holidays.

Contract Duration – 12 month contract.

Security Clearance – The successful candidate will be required to undergo security clearance checks.
