Blargoans Ltd have a 12-month contract opportunity for a Project Manager to work within our client’s facility in Caithness.
Job Description
A vacancy has arisen for a Project Manager within the Waste section of Operations Directorate. The purpose of the job is to safely manage the delivery of decommissioning projects and operations to an agreed timescale, cost and quality. The job holder will be responsible for the management and control of projects and operations throughout the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities
- Create, implement and maintain lifetime plans and strategies for the project taking into account analysis of
dependencies and constraints, scope, risks and assumptions
- Manage the project team including plant operators and supporting functions
- Maintain the safe operational delivery of the facility to meet the needs of the site and NTWP/LTP
- Support other directorate functions such as Strategic Programme and Programme Delivery in project definition and implementation phases as necessary
- Interact with the customer and provide all reports required under the contract
- Expedite safe project delivery to the satisfaction of internal and external stakeholders
- Monitor and report on internal and contractor performance against safety, costs, programme and quality, identify deviations and implement remedial actions as appropriate
- Review and report on identified problems and incidents, establishing causes and identifying, recommending and implementing solutions
- Managing the preparation, approval and issue of technical specifications through review to implementation
- Support the senior project manager/project director in the delivery of projects/programmes of work and sanction approvals
- Hold the Authority to Operate (ATO Holder) for the required facility
Desirable Attributes and Experience
HND in Science/Engineering/Business or equivalent qualifications plus experience
Experience: 5 years nuclear/industrial
Experience: 5 years contract management project management experience
A team player who can work with minimal supervision
Individual needs to be flexible to support business needs decision on responsibilities and on-site location
Excellent communication and interaction skill across all levels of the organisation
A positive approach, self-motivated, assertive with the ability to use initiative
Ability to coordinate and plan packages of work to meet facility demands
Previous experience in Operational / Decommissioning facilities would be advantageous
Previous radiological experience
Able to demonstrate good organisational and planning skills
Good safety and environmental awareness
Sound interpersonal and communication skills
A positive approach, self-motivated, assertive and ability to use initiative
Must be capable of filling the role of ATO Holder
Terms and Conditions
Basic Annual Income – £52,234 to £78,174, overtime rates apply as standard
37.9 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Annual Holiday Entitlement: 25 days annual leave, 8 public holidays, 2.5 privilege holidays
